So Anna had her 4 month check-up today, everything went awesome. She's doing so well in every area.... but then there's her length! Holy cow this kid is long! The Dr. said she needs to be moved to a toddler seat in the car because she is too long for the baby carrier! What am I going to do with a 4 month old when I go grocery shopping that can't sit up in the cart yet?!

Yummy Breadsticks
This is for my sister-in-law Ali and anyone else who would like the recipe for the BEST breadsticks ever! Thanks mom for teaching me how to bake, I'm getting quite the reputation :) If anyone has any requests for other recipes, just let me know.
1 c milk, scalded
3 Tbsp shortening (preferably butter flavor)
2 tsp salt
3 1/2 Tbsp sugar
1 c warm water
1/4 c flour
1/2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp active dry yeast
5 c flour (approximately)
1/3 c butter (melted)
parmesan and garlic powder to top
First scald the milk in the microwave, then add the shortening salt and sugar, let sit til melted and dissolved.
Next, in a different bowl put warm water and add the flour and the rest of the sugar. When mixed add the yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
Add the milk mixture to the yeast mixture and mix. Start adding flour a cup at a time. When the dough is too thick to stir, dump out on floured couter top and start kneading in the flour until it's soft like a baby's bottom. Continue to knead for a couple of minutes. Cover and let the dough raise until it's doubled in size, then roll into a greased cookie sheet. Spread the melted butter on top and sprinkle on the garlic powder and parmesan cheese. Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into sticks. Cover with a towel and let raise again until they look full. Cook at 400 for about 15 minutes until they start to turn golden brown.
